Overview

Collaborating with other shared services the Senior Global Logistics Specialist will work to increase company revenue through supply chain management in areas of sourcing, procurement, logistics and partnered with distribution provide more reliable service for our clients. In addition, the SGLS will have direct oversight and lead the global logistics staff in their day-to-day responsibilities of providing exceptional service to internal and external customers. This individual will drive continuous improvement efficiently in operational department processes.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, mentor, train, and evaluate performance of team members, identifying performance gaps and recommending development opportunities as may be required.
  • Confirm team understanding and abilities to successfully implement and manage all logistics operations related services.
  • Lead logistics projects ensuring timelines are met, budgets are contained, invoicing is accurate, and regulations are followed.
  • In a team environment work effectively to execute the reverse logistics flow of products from global clinical trial locations per approved timelines.
  • Facilitate the execution of all global logistics strategies including supporting analysis of distribution capabilities transportation and depot suppliers, and quality requirements while establishing metrics.
  • Support and develop joint objectives with intersecting groups to ensure alignment with logistics global partners for the assurance of supply in all markets to customers.
  • Provide CPG Team with logistics supply plan analysis.
  • Monitor and measure freight costs. Work with Procurement to manage carrier relations and negotiate contracts.
  • Update ERP system as appropriate and required.
  • Prepare invoices, reports and other documents including department metrics and maintain Team monthly KPI’s as required.
  • Perform routine duties such as organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, working with Excel spreadsheets, MS Office, and other Company systems as needed providing reports and analytics routinely and as needed.
  • Ensure that all processes are effectively implemented and completed according to all relevant SOPs, quality assurance and logistics requirements, and company strategic direction.
  • Provide operational support to ensure maximum productivity while reinforcing trade compliance.
  • Interface directly with management, quality assurance and logistics teams as applicable to supervise the reclamation process to ensure timely and accurate product disposition and returns logistics in accordance with Ancillare procedures.
  • Ensure the timely coordination of resupply and returns, destruction requests, and associated processes as dictated by protocol.
  • Interact and coordinate with carriers for inbound, outbound, and return deliveries, both domestic and international.
  • Participate in strategy meetings or other discussions with current and future studies
  • Assist in the creation of departmental SOP’s and training documents.
  • Ability and desire to work a project to completion meeting and or exceeding timeline deliverables.
  • Demonstrate and drive the Ancillare mission, values and strategy.
  • Enhance the department and organization by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different opportunities in the spirit of continuous improvement.
  • Maintain familiarity and compliance with all relevant company policies and procedures.
  • Participate and contribute positively to process improvement initiatives.
  • Travel as may be required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration or related field preferred, will consider equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management or related field, with exposure to global logistics.
  • Experience with supervising a team and project management highly preferred.
  • Prior working experience in a pharmaceutical industry, ancillary supply or supply chain is highly desirable and preferred.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English both written and verbal.
  • Ability to understand and share knowledge of the clinical supply chain process.
