Overview

The Sr. Staff Accountant supports the Controller and CFO in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance Department, maintaining and controlling the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records and transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and reconcile GL accounts, financial statements, and other reports, ensuring accuracy and GAAP compliance.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes ensuring accuracy of journal entries, perform account balance reconciliations.
  • Prepare and produce accurate and timely financial statements by identifying and correcting errors.
  • Maintain GL subsidiary accounts, preparing trial balances and reconciling entries.
  • Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Perform account analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Analyze business transactions as assigned for cost/profit analysis and comparison.
  • Assist in establishing internal controls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 5 plus years of experience in accounting is required. • CPA preferred.
  • Experience working with multiple legal entities.
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements.
  • Ability to be an effective communicator and work with others in a positive manner to solve problems.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong process execution skills, with a keen interest in locating, offering, and implementing process improvements.
  • Collaborate and work in a team environment.
  • Strong computer skills demonstrated ability to use both ERP systems and MS 365 applications, with intermediate/advanced skills in Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and meet organizational deadlines.
