
Overview
The Sr Data Architect is responsible for developing SQL Server reporting databases, data warehouses, data marts, and Measure Library to support data collection and data mining necessary for analytics and reporting. This position will collaborate with internal customers to capture requirements, design, create, document, manage and fulfill requests for on-going and/or ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and scorecards, as well as ensure integrity of the data through data governance frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Ability to effectively design, structure and securely maintain data.
- Ensure the accuracy and accessibility of data relevant to Ancillare or a project.
- Develop SQL Server reporting databases, data marts, and Measure Library to support data collection and data mining necessary for analytics and reporting.
- Develop data collection user interface applications to support Request Management, Reporting, and Improvement Project needs.
- Coordinate new data developments to ensure consistency with existing data warehouse structure.
- Effectively collaborate with internal customers to capture requirements, design, create, document, manage and fulfill requests for on-going and/or ad- hoc reports, dashboards, and scorecards and successfully complete tasks accurately and timely.
- Self manages projects, tasks and timelines ensuring that approvals from leadership are obtained in advance of projects. Keep leadership appraised od development with regular status updates.
- Effectively lead, supervise, coach, mentor, train and evaluate performance of team members assigned, identifying performance gaps and recommending development opportunities as may be required.
- Assist in identification of data integrity problems and recommend effective solutions.
- Design relational databases to support business enterprise applications and physical data modeling according to project requirements.
- Review existing data architectures to determine overall effectiveness and compliance with original objectives, develop comprehensive strategies for improving or replacing under-performing areas.
- Model, design, and implement architectural strategies to meet stated requirements for metadata management, operational data stores data warehouses, and Extract Transform Load (ETL) environments.
- Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting and integrating new elements.
- Define and document data dictionary definitions, governance practices, and standards.
- Responsible for effective end-to-end data lifecycle management activities, evaluating and recommending new and emerging data management and storage technologies.
- Effectively work with business units, functions, and leaders to prioritize business information needs.
- Ability and desire to work a project to completion meeting and or exceeding timeline deliverables. Participate and work on projects as may be assigned.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

- Travel as may be required.
Qualifications
- The management and organization of data requires experience in both proficiency in database design (Concept Maps, ER Diagrams, etc) and the transformation of data throughout its lifecycle (SQL, XML, etc).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, information systems, Healthcare, or other related field from an accredited University, may consider equivalent work experience.
- Thorough & complete understanding of data governance frame works with the ability to effectively and timely implement.
- 3 + years of experience in designing and developing performance measurement data marts and automated reporting systems.
- 3 years developing predictive and prescriptive visualizations and data modeling, & data visualization.
- 3+ years previous experience in a management position supervising Data Analysts.
- Minimum 3- 5 years technical expertise in data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques and data warehousing.
- 5+ years’ experience in relational databases and designing automated reporting systems, and with business tools: Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, Python, R, ETL, Scripting, Power BI , XML and Excel .

- Proficient in the use of lap-top computer and software systems including Microsoft Office.
- Proven ability to use a palette of techniques ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining.
- Skills and ability to effectively train the users in how to transform data into action-oriented information and how to use information.
- Ability to effectively work both strategically and tactically, and independently as well as in a team effort.
- Strong understanding of how to access and manage the data required to support business and analysis requirements.
- Strong leadership skills with a professional presence and demeanor to champion the organization.
