Issue
One of our customers required laptops for use in administering a computer generated neuropsychological test for clinical trial participants. The laptops needed to be customized to meet specific requirements of the programming. There were approximately 224 sites in several countries in Eastern Europe, Central America, and Asia.
Next Steps for the APT
The APT Project Manager reviewed the laptop specifications with the clinical teams and built the unit accordingly. The APT Logistics Team completed its pre shipping clearance work to determine the guidelines for shipping technology products to each country included in the study. The APT Procurement Team leveraged its buying power. |
APT Continued Intervention
The number of sites in the trial was 224 and the purchase price for these units was excessive. APT Analysts forecast demand so that the order size and expenditure was reduced by two thirds. |
The APT Logistics organized shipment for delivery, pick up, and re-delivery to next sites on the schedule. |
This cycle continued until all sites had completed the computerized testing. |
Computers were then returned to Ancillare for warehousing pending redeployment. |
Results
Prices were leveraged to achieve maximum costs savings and forecasts were structured. Overall hard dollar savings for this event stood at 68%. |
Entire process was centralized, organized, efficient, seamless and transparent and reproducible. |
