Ancillare Medical Director Embarks on Mission to Peru
North Wales, PA, May 31, 2011 - Joanne D.F. Santomauro, President and CEO of Ancillare announced today that Dr. John Fitzgerald (the firm's Medical Director) will serve this summer on the Global Health Ministry Volunteer Mission. Dr. Fitzgerald will be heading to Chulucanas, Peru in June where he along with a team of surgeons, nurses, optometrists, podiatrists and other healthcare professionals will provide much needed health care in remote villages and towns where people have little or no access to doctors or medical services.
"Ancillare is proud to support Dr. Fitzgerald's efforts! The company is donating an assortment of ancillary and drug supplies that he and his team will require in the field," says Joanne Santomauro. "John's team requires everything from prescriptive and over the counter drugs to cough drops and bandages. Ancillare is working to meet all requests for supplies and we are both proud and honored to support John's efforts" says Santomauro. Dr. Fitzgerald indicated that the people who live in these remote villages have virtually no medical supplies at all. They depend on the good will and skills of doctors like John who donate their time and services in attempt to improve their quality of life.
Dr. Fitzgerald serves as Medical Director for Ancillare and provides expert guidance on medical issues relating to equipment, drug supply and protocol design. Dr. Fitzgerald has a broad base of experience including direct patient care (in private practice), clinical trial management, and as an Associate Professor at a local university.
